Establish the exact store configuration

OpenCart projects differ by version, theme, extensions and modifications. Record the full version and installed module versions rather than only “OpenCart 3” or “OpenCart 4”. A connector compatible with one environment should not be assumed compatible with the other.

Prepare a staging copy without real customer secrets. Give the integration team a reproducible set of products and orders for acceptance testing.

Distinguish options from independent variants

A size or color option may change price, weight or available quantity. Agree how each option maps to a purchasable selection in the app. Test required options, unavailable combinations and products whose stock is tracked differently.

Never derive the final order price only from displayed catalog prices. Discounts, customer groups, taxes and shipping can change the checkout total.

Extensions are part of the integration

Custom checkout modules and OCMod changes can alter behavior that a standard API does not expose. Inventory the modifications affecting orders, payment and delivery. A store theme is not a reliable contract for those business rules.

• Multi-store: which store identity owns the app and its orders?
• Languages: how do descriptions and option names map?
• Currencies: which system converts amounts and which currency is settled?
• Customer groups: are there wholesale prices or access restrictions?

Agree the order path before launch

Document where a mobile order is created, how payment confirmation arrives and when stock is reserved. Include cancellation, retries and delayed provider responses. Keep credentials on the server and assign only the permissions required by the connection.

Prove the connection on staging

Test a complete order with each required payment and delivery method. Compare identifiers, totals, option selections and stock changes. Repeat the test after a module update.
